Why do i like zero?

i've been unreasonably invested in fictional characters for much of my life, so i've met plenty of characters that I was fond of for various reasons. Characters who are attractive, relatable, creative muses, cute and amusing, philosophically interesting, etc. The thing with Zero is that she hits all of those points at once!!! It's amazing!! I'm happy that such a wonderful character exists every day!!

it's super awkward to explain zero's character to someone who has no knowledge of 14's setting, but i'll try my best.

zero is a character from the (critically acclaimed™) MMO Final Fantasy 14's fourth expansion, Endwalker. (so you'll have to play an awful lot of MMO story to meet her, sorry. Blame Yoshi-p) She is a human/voidsent hybrid due to convuluted lore. A voidsent is in short, a vampire/demon like creature in 14. They are the result of Zero's world being flooded with Darkness. As a result voidsent are technically immortal, but require large amounts of aether (the stuff that makes up all living things, equivelant to "mana" in many fantasy settings) to live. As Zero's mother was exposed to large amounts of Darkness while pregnant, Zero was born part-voidsent, though she herself sees herself as more of a full voidsent by the time we meet her in the story. Zero's world (the thirteenth) and the lives of voidsent revolve around accquiring aether after it is left completely destroyed due to excessive Darkness, including entering contracts with deniziens of other worlds in exchange for aether. Zero was forcibly entered into an unequal contract with long running villain Zenos, which is how the protagonist of 14 (Player-created.) eventually ends up meeting her.

About the immortality part, Zero is at least a few thousand years old. Toxic age gap.
